About Marianne Brandt (1893-1983). Born in Chemnitz, Saxony, Marianne Brandt began studying fine art at a young age, eventually arriving at an expressionistic  Marianne Brandt. Marianne Brandt's unique talent was soon picked up by László Moholy-Nagy. Inspired by him, Brandt undertook her studies in the male-  Marianne Brandt (1893-1983, German), the first female student of the Bauhaus metal workshop, designed this cleverly geometric inkwell.
